2 goals from man of the match James Williams, and one each from James Taylor, Peter 'Maharishi Mahesh Yogi' Colbourn, Liam Brown, Rob 'tapin and break the back board' Heinzl and Ash Kempton making his debut for the 6s
A good team effort from the mens 6s with Ben Shelley making his debut from the u16s - playing a solid game on his introduction to mens hockey (and also bring the average age down quite considerably) and Ashley Kempton playing his first game for five year providing much needed control in the centre of the park. Lewes were unlucky to lose Mike Fuller with an injury after 10 minutes but not before his well struck cross was expertly slid into the net by James Taylor on the overlap from Left back. A meditating Peter Colebourn was on hand, during an enlightening moment, to elevate a near motionless ball into the net to provide the team with a mindfulness of calm prior to half time. A meditating half time team talk from the captain sent the rest of team to sleep - but luckily the team awoke to score 4 further goals before Chichester scored a breakaway past debut goal keeper - Nick Hart who was badly let down by his defence. With 2 minutes to go Ash Kempton picked up a good ball from Liam Brown to wrong foot the keeper - who had been busy all afternoon - with a well placed shot of the inside of the far post to make it 7- 1 at the final whistle. With 3 games to play the 6s are in a solid 3rd position with league leaders EG still to play.
