Lewes 6s closed out the season with a home game against Eastbourne.

We were hoping for our first clean sheet of the season, and a second win - but it was quite quickly clear that this was not going to happen...
Lewes started off by trying to take each other out - thanks Tonks!
We ended up going down 5 - 1, Peter Fleming scoring our only goal just before half time.

Looking back at the season ...

A cast of 1000s, no a cast of 100s, no a cast of 39 fulfilled the 6s fixtures this season. On two occasions we were very close to not having 11 players, but managed it in the end.

We did finish one game with 10 players, losing two to injuries at the Battle of Hastings.

Scoring was an issue, more than a quarter of our season's goals came in our only victory (5 out of 19 in case you are keeping count).

Defending was an issue, losing 10 - 0, at home to EG was rough, we battled for a valiant 9 - 0 defeat in the return fixture! That game notable for the ingenious short corner routine where our goalie ran out and all 4 defenders stayed on the line.

Midfield was an issue, no only joking.

Despite a season with a single win, we played all season in good spirits.
On 6 occasions we lost by one goal and were unfortunate to not take more points off the Championship winning Lewes 5s.

Thank you to all our 6s players.
