A good defensive work at a very chilly Falmer

Brilliant effort today and the result, yet again, doesn’t reflect the play. Three goals were scored in the 1st quarter before we had a goal keeper in place and then the teams were fairly even until in the last quarter we were unlucky to lose another goal to a tenacious Burgess Hill team.

The Lionesses played well, many of whom were new to the age group and do not yet have great experience of a full pitch or 11 a side. They never gave up and worked hard together. A special mention must go to Martha, Izzy, Ruby and Lucy in defence for working tirelessly. The midfield players battled hard and everyone grew in confidence as the game progressed. A great game played with spirit and we were unlucky not to score a few goals of our own.
