Another match at East Grinstead playing both U10G teams. We arrived with a very diminished squad but the girls' enthusiasm were certainly not subdued, not even the sudden rainstorm could dampen their spirits.
First up was the Lynxes with Mirri and Tess up front working hard, and borrowing Matilda from the Leopard's in goal. With borrowed subs, the girls ran their socks off and was unlucky not to score. Final score: 4 EG - 0 Lynxes
Team consisted of: Mirri, Tess, Emily, Elena, Merle, Emilia, Ruby, Pippa & Matilda.
Next up, the Leopards were eager to get out there and they didn't disappoint. It was good to make use of some of the Lynxes to fill in for the Leopards and let the players work together. They found some rhythm in the second half with some great open play, creating space and (finally) dribbling and running with the ball up the sides. Well played all round.
Final score: 0 EG - 2 Leopards.
Team today: Ruby, Mirri, Erin, Pippa, Phoebe, Matilda, Evelyn and Emily, Elena & Merle for subs.
Well done to all the girls who always brings bucket loads of spirit, enthusiasm and love of the game, despite the weather, despite the opposition, despite losses. Happy hockey!
(And a big thank you to parents & carers for supporting).
