Do this before playing hockey for the first time this season

Simon Bullmore11 Sep 2020 - 09:07

From laying our awesome new astro to preparing COVID protocols we've been working hard to get the club ready for hockey. Now you need to do your bit.

Before you play hockey this season you need to read our COVID protocols and complete a form. These are designed to keep you safe. And, for the club to conform to regulations.

The forms you need to complete
Anyone who wants to attend any session at Lewes Hockey Club will need to complete the form below. This includes matches, Monday Night Hockey and training.

You will also need to set your availability for each session, in advance, on Pitchero.

COMPLETE THE FORM >>> https://forms.gle/ZVTHnvhVKSu3yQCQA=

We need to cross-reference attendance registers with this form and with the EH participation form linked to within the form. It's vital you complete it so that we comply with the regulations.

If you have already completed a form for preseason you must still complete this form, but you do not have to do the England Hockey participation agreement again.

Keeping you and other people safe

Please review and follow these protocols and associated guidance.

BE COVID AWARE
You must not attend the club or matches if you have any symptoms including:

  • A high Temperature (above 37.8ºC)
  • A new continuous cough
  • A loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

PITCH MANAGEMENT FOR TRAINING

  • Please arrive changed and ready to play as the changing rooms will not be available. Toilets will be accessible.
  • On arrival, if another session is in progress, DO NOT enter the pitch until your coach asks you to. Please use the netball court as a holding area.
  • The dugout will be reserved for First Aid, coaches and volunteers ONLY, not for bags.
  • Parents and spectators should not enter the Astro. You can watch from outside the fence either side of the dugout. Please consider social distancing sensibly when in these areas.
  • Each coaching group on-pitch including coaches, volunteers and players to be less than 30 people.
  • Players are requested to bring a choice of white/black and bright coloured top to reduce the numbers of bibs used in practice and games.
  • Your Captain will provide full details of the matchday process closer to the start of the league.

EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT

  • Each player is to have their own gum shield and shin pads and stick.
  • Each player must bring their own drinks. No sharing.
  • Sticks can be borrowed if necessary. They will be sanitised before use.
  • Try to reduce contact with gum shields and leave them in place where possible.
  • Balls and cones – players are NOT to handle the balls or cones at all. Use your sticks ONLY.
  • Everyone must have their own hand sanitisers.
  • In the case of helping an injured player, the coach or first aid attendee will wear their own personal mask whilst in close contact with the player where possible.

Thank you for reading this and following our club protocols

Our approach has been designed to provide a safe coaching and playing environment for you and our players and volunteers.
