Hat-trick for Molloy as first team score second 4-1 victory in a row

HOME TEAM: Horsham Ladies 2's 1
AWAY TEAM: Lewes Ladies 1s 4 (Baron 1, Molloy 3)
Lewes Ladies 1s set off to local rivals Horsham on Saturday on the back of a 4-1 thriller against Worthing only to win by the same score again!
Lewes started the game full of energy and enthusiasm, making every pass count and have a purpose. Within ten minutes, Lewes quickly found themselves in the Horsham D: one pass seamlessly connected with another and Laura Molloy slammed a goal into the net.
A second soon followed for the happy-go-lucky striker who added to her brilliant goal tally for the season. Lewes's midfield worked tirelessly, building play from the defence to the forwards. Emma Pavitts’s legs did not stop moving for one second in the first half. And by her side Libby Youngman consistently pestered Horsham for the ball and successfully on the ball back for Lewes.
In the second half, Horsham attempted a few breaks, however their lack of cohesion as a team didn’t help them counter the progressive Lewes side.
Sarah Hall and Marie Spence enjoyed a series of transfers between themselves at the back before sending the ball down the field for Anna Hilton to find Molloy to get her third goal of the game.
Horsham retaliated winning a penalty corner. With a miss hit from them they managed to throw the Lewes keeper and slipped one past her. But this was too little too late as striker Amelia Baron went on a magnificent run past multiple Horsham players on to her reverse and netting the fourth goal for Lewes.
The crowd watching went wild as Baron was at such a tight angle in the D it didn’t look like she would be able to make the shot. But her skills proved everyone wrong.
It was Lewes's third league wine in a row since Christmas ,putting them up to fourth in the league. Next week back at home 11.45am vs Fareham.
