Ladies 1s Win 4-1 against Worthing Ladies 1s
Comfortable victory against bottom of the league Worthing
FIXTURE: South Div 3B
HOME TEAM: Worthing Ladies 1s 1
AWAY TEAM: Lewes Ladies 1s 4 (Hilton 2, Molloy 2)
Another week and another victory for Lewes Ladies 1s.
Playing bottom of the league Worthing always had the potential for being a banana skin for the Lewes side. But following the run of good form Lewes have been on since Christmas, Worthing did not manage to disrupt the team.
Lewes found form early in the first half moving the ball well all over the pitch and creating chances upfront. It didn't take long for the Lewes forward to slot a goal past the Worthing goal keeper. After that the goals kept flowing for Lewes. By half time the team were a comfortable 2-0 up and looking strong going into the second half.
Lewes benefitted from strong individual performances from players all over the pitch, including young keeper Tess Youngman who controlled the Lewes defence very well and owned the D.
During the second half Worthing tried to come back. They managed to score one on a fluke break but this only inspired Lewes to come back and sink 2 more goals past them. With Lewes leaving the pitch with convincing victory of 4-1. Goals from Molloy x 2 and Hilton x 2. Next week the side face Horsham ladies 2s away
