It was an uncharacteristically sunny Sunday morning which saw 2 squads of Lewes U12 boys visit Brighton for a 7-a-side tournament. Both teams took a little time to get into their stride but once they did the goals started to flow. 5-0 to Team A with a notable brace by Oli Ingham playing for the first time in the forward line. Team B came from two goals down to a 2-2 draw. After the first games were finished the teams swapped opposition and Team A faced the better Brighton side. It was a hard fought contest with 2 solid defences keeping the scores level at 0-0 for some time. There was only ever going to be one goal in it and that fell to Lewes after a shot hit the post and Henry Roser was there to put it in off the rebound. Lewes Team B won their match 4-0 with the forward duo of Ben Battle and Dylan Williams proving too much for the weaker Brighton side.

The teams now face 3 tournaments in consecutive weeks in the run up to the finale for the year, the Sussex County finals which will decide the County winners and who will represent Sussex in the South of England end of season tournament. Fingers crossed for the Lewes boys.
