After the glory of their winning the HA trophy over Guernsey in Yorkshire over 18months ago, Lewes 1st xi kick off their 2014 Now:Pension’s cup campaign this Sunday with a tasty encounter against much talked about Holcombe Hockey club.

Lewes are looking to go better than last season’s unfortunate 2-1 exit to Old Loughts and they face a tough test against the National East Conference side who have been in the spotlight this summer for making several big name signings in an attempt to reach the top flight; a goal they narrowly fell short on last season.

Lewes will be aware of their recent additions, bolstered by Great Britain players such as George Pinner, Barry Middleton, Dan Fox, Nick Caitlin and Iain Lewers. However they will travel to the Medway with optimism after a successful pre-season.

Push back is at 2:30pm this Sunday at Holcombe.
