Beth Webster and Mike Wood head off to Oz for this year's hockey exchange.

We will not have any player arriving in the new year from Frankston Hockey Club in Melbourne as part of our exchange programme. Oli Hill who played earlier this year is now on his way back to Melbourne and we hope he enjoyed his stay in Lewes and his last month’s travelling around Europe.

I am pleased to say two Lewes players Mike Wood and Beth Webster are going over in the new year leaving in January and travelling around before arriving in Frankston before the season starts in March. We wish them a safe and enjoyable stay and look forward to hearing how they get on ‘ Down Under ’. I am sure the weather will be better than here !

If there is anyone looking to consider this in 2017 please let me know. The earlier we know the earlier arrangements can be made for accommodation in Frankston. It is a wonderful opportunity not only to play hockey in Australia but to travel as well. Frankston is about an hour from Melbourne with beautiful beaches, wineries, shops, good pubs, restaurants and cafes. Our contact at the Frankston Hockey Club is Joe Hill who played for Lewes for a number of years before moving to Australia.
